Adding us as a Contact On Zoom:

Once you are logged into Zoom on your PC or Device, you need to add us as a contact so we can easily call you at your lesson time. In Zoom, click on 'Contacts' at the top (PC) or bottom (mobile), then click the '+' symbol and add your teacher's email address as a new contact:

  • Kieran - essendonguitar@gmail.com
  • Darcy - darcyessendonguitar@gmail.com
  • Tim - timessendonguitar@gmail.com
  • Jeremy - jeremyessendonguitar@gmail.com
  • Marcus - marcusessendonguitar@gmail.com

This will send us a request, and then we can quickly and easily call you at your lesson time (no need to worry about Meeting ID or passwords).

Preparing for your Guitar Lesson:

So we can make the most of our Zoom video lessons, we ask that you are setup and ready to go before your lesson time, please go through this check list to make sure you're ready:

  1. You've logged into the Zoom program (on PC it's the downloaded program - not the website), or Zoom app.
  2. You've added your teacher as a contact
  3. Camera setup - please test out your camera position (click 'New Meeting' to open your camera to show what we'll be able to see) - we need to be able to see your hands on your guitar - most importantly your left hand/fret hand - pressing down the strings for your chords and riffs in the 1st fret and upwards. If using a phone or iPad you can use something in the room to rest it against, to make sure it will sit up in the right position for the whole lesson. It may sound rude, but it is more important for us to see your hands on your guitar rather than your face!
  4. Audio - please test out your device's audio - you can plug into speakers or headphones if needed to boost the volume.
  5. Folder - please have your folder nearby and ready to read your material.
  6. We will sometimes email you new material for your lesson - if you have a printer, please print these in advance, or if you have a 2nd device able to open up the file that is also great.
  7. We will call you at your lesson time (please do not call us as we will be finishing our previous lesson), when we call you just need to click on 'join with video' and then make sure you turn on your microphone audio so we can hear you.
  8. For any problems, please either text your teacher in advance, or call our mobile phone at the start of your lesson time so we can guide you through getting set up.
